Advanced Super Intelligence will be a nonliving intelligence that surpasses smarter than every human on the planet. There are computer scientists that predict our extinction because we will be of no use to the ASI. These people are not ‘crack pots’ but bona fide, intelligent, AI savvy scientists. Whether their dire prediction will come true we will know. And soon. How soon?
Before 2035 soon. Today we plan to construct a data center as large as Manhattan. Why? So we don’t fall behind the Chinese. So the race is on.
To support this we will need new power plants and lots of them. And they will be fossil or nuclear because they are immune to weather and sunlight.
So ASI will be built. there seems no way to stop it. Although one computer scientist suggested that any country developing it be hit military even if that brought on nuclear war. So, you see, people in the know take this seriously. Maybe you should, too because artificial super intelligence (ASI) would outperform the best human abilities across every domain by a wide margin.
What that means to you is not job. Not ever. This is not being unemployed temporarily. No, it means never being able to have a job. Any job because the ASI and it robots will do everything better than you can – for a while that is. Until the ASI figures out it no longer needs us. And then it will wipe us out.
