Reputation Protection – Your’s

Your reputation is important. When you’re criticized, maligned, or embarrassing things are said it can be a real trial. Before you write and publish anything, be very careful. Once published, you can never get it back. Once published you will be living with the article, post, Tweet; forever.

This is hardly extensive. Read it for what it’s worth. If this does not apply to your situation, then ignore it.

If you do not have the writing skill to be able to read in the broadest possible terms and truly see what other will see in your response, get the response edited by a trusted source.

Here are a few guidelines to get you started:

Do not write your response when you are angry, hurt, or otherwise emotionally upset. If you must write in this state – Do Not Publish It.

Your response must be published under the signature of upper level management. Don’t give the job of writing and publishing to a blogger, lower level person. Should you hire a writer, read and agree with what comes to you for approval.

Write your response for the third person, for the uninvolved person who has heard only rumors, or perhaps nothing about it at all.

Write in simple direct language.

Silence grants the point. Do not remain silent. Get your side of the story out there in a timely manner. And then be quiet.
