Passivity in social networking is a real killer because publishing great content does not guarantee that it will be read. And, like we’ve said for years, “Your content will either get read or get lost.”<\/p>\n

So, to be successful what you need are followers. People who consume your content. To get them you do one thing first: you seek to gain influence among your target audience.<\/p>\n

Now inform your audience what you’re doing, where they can consume it, and how to get there. Remember, you’re “selling” your content for something more valuable than money; people’s time.<\/p>\n
