A<\/span>s a writer I’m writing all the time, as you would expect. what you might not expect is that some words make me crazy.<\/p>\n

Consider device and devise. Only one letter different, yet there are times when I can’t remember which is which. So, I do this: device has a ‘c’ in it. In my mind, like a c-clamp which is a tool. So, all I’ve got to do is remember the c as in c-clamp and I’m spelling the word I want to spell and not making myself look it up in the dictionary or look silly.\n<\/p>\n

You can do things like this, too. Make associations that point you to the desired result.\n<\/p>\n
