Is your expert really an expert, or a charlatan? Here’s how to find out.

True professionals, any true professional, knows the minute details of his or her craft. So, when you’re confronted with anyone who purports to be a professional. Start talking and ask questions that delve into the minutia.

Sure, your saying, “How would I possibly know if I’m being told the truth of a bunch of lies.”

You won’t. So look at these things.

Body language.

Listen to the voice. Are your questions answered with alacrity?

Watch facial cues. Does our ‘expert’ look stressed. are answers give with qualifications, or do they come easily.

Does the professional tell you when he or she is unfamiliar with something?

A true professional has a the self confidence to admit when confronted with something he or she does not know. Expect a recommendation to someone who does.

Those who offer little more than sounding good can be exposed this way. when in doubt take notes in your meeting and speak with more than one professional to gain the ability to make an informed decision.
