Marketing is a bear no matter how you look at it. Well, here’s a tool that we bet you’ve never heard of before: having your fictional characters market for you. Yes, you read that right. And because your characters are in the spotlight they can have relationship(s) with your readers. So, that’s what we mean when we write, ‘…having your fictional characters market for you’ because that’s what they’re doing.
And why shouldn’t they help you? After all the work you’ve done to create them, the plot, setting. Having them do double duty is terrific because it relieves you from some of the marketing work.
